Shubhash Ghai said "Rahman is sole of Indian music. When I saw script to Rahman then he suggested that why don't make it musical and we made the characters like that running around music. I worked first time with Gulzar saab and it was complete satisfaction with them. Everybody write mehbooba, Dilruba in songs but never wrote Dost which means friend. So this was first time in Indian music saying Dost to her girl. "
"Tu meri dost hai is an honest and pure feeling of character to her friend and Dost was perfect and though lyrics were written. "Explaining Gulzar. "Music of Yuvvraaj is just magnificent. Working with Rahman is always special. "
Rahman said "It was lots of hard work and the this is result. Chennai string orchestra played for this song became a new song Tu mushkura. Shubhash has that composer understanding mind. "
Why he had said that? "There was one strings and cello part in MERI DIST HAI and that portion I cannot forget. So I suggest Rahman to make song on that tune which is so catchy and hummy"

A.R.Muraggados the director don't know what to do with music so that Amir himself decided to go for music to Rahman and that was really wise decision that everybody knows.

Rahman sir had many tunes, so he sent that to Amir. He listened that all tune but one tune that he can't forget because of its feel. According to him he was crying when he was listening that tune.

So tune has thanking and pathos feeling so he decided to add that song in his movie.

Then prashoon sir had written wonderful lyrics on that tune and Benny sang it beautifully.
